These are the ten tallest buildings and structures in the United States excluding radio and TV towers and antennas. The list is dominated by the two cities of New York and Chicago which each have four of the tallest buildings in the country with Las Vegas and Atlanta having one building or structure each. These are all great buildings located near some of the finest hotels and restaurants in the world and some of these buildings are huge tourist attractions complete with observation decks offering phenomenal views.
1) Willis Tower in Chicago - 1,451 feet
The Willis Tower is new name of the Sears Tower located at 233 South Wacker Ave in Chicago. The Willis Tower was completed in 1974 and has an all glass observation deck which is a scary but very popular tourist attraction in Chicago. In addition to being the tallest building in the United States the Willis Tower is currently the 8th tallest building in the world.
2) Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago - 1,389 feet
Also located in Chicago the Trump International Hotel and Tower is the 2nd tallest building in the United States and is located at 401 North Wabash Ave. Built and owned by Donald Trump the Trump International Hotel and Tower is a residential building with condominiums and also a first class hotel in Chicago.
3) Empire State Building in New York - 1,250 feet
When the Empire State Building was completed in 1931 it was the tallest building in the world and remained so until the Sears Tower which is now the Willis Tower was completed in 1974. The Empire State Building is perhaps the most famous skyscraper in the world and is a huge tourist attraction complete with two observation decks located at 350 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, New York.
4) Bank of America Tower in New York - 1,200 feet
The Bank of America Tower is located on 6th Avenue between 42nd and 43rd streets in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The Bank of America Building was just completed in 2009 and cost $1 billion dollars and is owned by the largest bank in the country the Bank of America.
5) Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas - 1,149 feet

The Stratosphere Tower is located at 2000 Las Vegas Boulevard South along the Strip in Las Vegas. The Stratosphere Tower is a big tourist attraction in Las Vegas containing the highest thrill rides in the world, a casino, restaurants with incredible views and a hotel. This is technically the only non-building on the list.
6) AON Center in Chicago - 1,136 feet
The AON Center is located at 200 East Randolph Street in Chicago and at 1,136 feet is the 22nd tallest building in the world and 6th tallest in the United States.
7) John Hancock Center in Chicago - 1,127 feet
The John Hancock Center is located at 875 North Michigan Ave in Chicago and is the 4th building on the top ten list in the Windy City and 24th tallest building on earth.
8) Chrysler Building in New York - 1,046 feet
Built in Art Deco style the Chrysler Building is located at 405 Lexington Ave in Manhattan. For 11 months after it was completed in 1930 until the Empire State Building was completed in 1931 the Chrysler Building was the tallest building in the world and is still the 33rd tallest building in the world today.
8) New York Times Building in New York - 1,046 feet
Located at 620 8th Ave in Manhattan the New York Times Building is the exact same height as the Chrysler Building but cannot hold a candle to that iconic structure. The Times Building was completed in 2007.
10) Bank of America Plaza in Atlanta - 1,023 feet
The Bank of America Plaza is located at 600 Peachtree Street NE in downtown Atlanta, Georgia and is the 10th tallest building and structure in the country. Completed in 1992 the Bank of America Plaza is currently an all office building but plans are in the works to move Bank of America out of the lower 16 floors and convert the space to a five star hotel complex.
