The tallest buildings or skyscrapers located in the city of Cleveland, Ohio. All of these skyscrapers are at least 450 feet high and one of these buildings was the 2nd tallest building in the United States when it was completed in 1930.

These are the tallest buildings in Cleveland, Ohio. All of these buildings are at least 450 feet in height and the tallest building in the city is the 18th tallest building in the United States. The history of skyscrapers in Cleveland is interesting as one of these buildings was the second tallest building in the United States when it was completed in 1930.

Most of these buildings are centrally located downtown near the best hotels and restaurants in the city and one of the buildings is located near Cleveland's best and most famous visitor attraction the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

1) Key Tower - 947 feet

At 947 feet in height Key Tower is easily the tallest building in both Cleveland and the state of Ohio and is the 18th tallest building in the United States and 70th tallest building in the world. Located at 127 Public Square and built in modern art deco style from 1988-1991 the 57 floor Key Tower is connected to the much shorter 320 foot high Marriott Hotel at Key Center which resembles the taller Key Tower. Key Bank has its headquarters in the building and is easily the largest tenant in the Key Tower though it does not own this impressive skyscraper.

2) Terminal Tower - 709 feet

Located at 50 Public Square in downtown Cleveland the 709 foot high Terminal Tower is the 2nd tallest building in the city and the state of Ohio and the 114th tallest building in the United States. When completed in 1930 the 52 story Terminal Tower was the 2nd tallest building in the United States. In a 1938 publicity stunt Cleveland Indians 3B Ken Keltner threw baseballs off the top of the Terminal Tower to two teammates below. After a few misses where the baseballs bounced 6 stories high after hitting the pavement both teammates caught balls traveling at 138 mph.

3) BP Building - 658 feet

The BP Building located at 200 Public Square is the 3rd tallest building in Cleveland at 658 feet in height. Completed in 1985 the 45 floor BP Building was built by Standard Oil of Ohio and served as the oil companies headquarters until 1998. The BP Building which is also called 200 Public Square is located downtown near the best hotels and restaurants in Cleveland.

4) Erieview Tower - 529 feet

Erieview Tower or the Tower at Erieview is located at 1301 East 9th Street in downtown Cleveland and is the 4th tallest building in the city. Built from 1963-1964 the 40 floor Erieview Tower is one of the most bland skyscrapers ever designed and constructed. There is a two story shopping mall located at the base of Erieview Tower called the Galleria at Erieview. Cleveland's best and most famous visitor attraction the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is also located nearby.

5) One Cleveland Center - 450 feet

One Cleveland Center is located at 1375 East 9th Street and at 450 feet in height is 5th tallest building in the city of Cleveland and the last building that is 450 feet or taller. Built from 1980-1983 in the financial district of the city One Cleveland Center had the distinction of having American International Group or AIG and Lehman Brothers as tenants as well as Merrill Lynch. AIG and Lehman Brothers went bankrupt in 2008 and Merrill Lynch likely would have also but was bought out by Bank of America.
